PALO ALTO, Calif., November 14, 2013 – HP announced today that San Diego-based DPI Direct purchased an HP Indigo 10000 Digital Press to support its continued business growth and expand its product offerings.
Since acquiring its first HP Indigo press in 2005, DPI Direct has grown from a small company to one of the top printing operations in San Diego, California. Earlier this year, the company determined it needed to expand its digital capacity and capabilities to keep up with increasing client demand and to maintain its positive growth trajectory.
After attending an HP-hosted customer open house event in San Francisco, DPI Direct selected the HP Indigo 10000 Digital Press to take advantage of the 29-inch format to provide new possibilities for new and existing clients.
With print speeds of up to 3,450 sheets per hour in full color and up to 4,600 sheets per hour in Enhanced Productivity Mode, the HP Indigo 10000 Digital Press enables DPI Direct to help meet tight deadlines from corporate and retail clients. The press also broadens the company’s range of applications and allows it to address new market segments, including fulfillment of orders via ShastaPrint.com, a web-to-print offering DPI Direct launched to reach consumers.

Creating new digital print opportunities
With the installation of the HP Indigo 10000 Digital Press in October 2013, DPI Direct plans to expand its personalized direct mail and variable data printing (VDP) offerings while helping to lower the overall cost per print. The company prides itself on working within any budget. In part, DPI Direct purchased the HP Indigo 10000 Digital Press to provide customers a more affordable option for personalized print-on-demand materials as well as to pursue high-value applications.
DPI currently operates several HP digital presses, including an HP Indigo 7600 Digital Press. With the increased business expected from the addition of the HP Indigo 10000, DPI Direct plans to add employment opportunities in the San Diego area to support economic growth.
